To Improve Operational Efficiency of Shuttle Buses, Pupuk Kaltim Expands Its TAM Fleet Service from PT Teknologi Karya Digital Nusa Tbk (TRON) with a Command Center
Following the successful implementation of IoT telematics services using products from PT Teknologi Karya Digital Nusa Tbk to monitor the bus fleet and the driving behavior of all drivers by installing hardware devices on all buses in the fleet. The goal is for all drivers to exercise greater caution when operating the fleet in accordance with the safe driving standards set within the IoT telematics algorithm, with an alarm triggered whenever a driver deviates from these safe driving standards. Pupuk Kaltim is now also expanding the scale of its monitoring by implementing a Command Center in the second quarter (Q2) of this year to centrally monitor the entire fleet of buses used for shuttling employees and school students.
This expansion aims to enhance the safety and efficiency of the bus fleet used for transporting employees and students, reassuring stakeholders of Pupuk Kaltim’s commitment to secure operations. With the centralized Command Center now operational, fleet monitoring is comprehensive, fostering trust in the company’s safety standards. The advanced Two-Way Communication and Broadcast features enable real-time control and coordination, reinforcing confidence in operational reliability.
In addition to the control center infrastructure, PT Pupuk Kaltim—with the support of products from PT Teknologi Karya Digital Nusa Tbk—has also implemented several significant updates to its fleet management application, including an added Report Management feature that makes it easier for the Pupuk Kaltim management team to automatically generate data analytics and operational reports. Furthermore, the IoT devices installed on the vehicles are now equipped with a Delay Shutdown feature. This technology ensures that cameras and monitoring devices remain on and continue recording events for several minutes after the vehicle’s engine is turned off, thereby maintaining fleet security even while the vehicles are parked.
Mr. Erwin Setiawan, AVP of Transportation and Travel at Pupuk Kaltim, shared his perspective on the implementation of this technology.
“The smooth operation and security of our operational bus fleet are the lifeblood of ensuring that the employee shuttle buses and school buses for the Pupuk Kaltim Foundation run smoothly, safely, and comfortably without any obstacles. The IoT technology products from PT Teknologi Karya Digital Nusa Tbk have been of great help to us. Furthermore, with the recent inauguration of the centralized Command Center building at Pupuk Kaltim, along with the two-way communication feature and the Delay Shutdown feature, we now have full control and much greater visibility into every movement of the fleet. This naturally leads to operational efficiency and improved safety standards within the Pupuk Kaltim environment. We hope that in the future, similar technology can also be applied to monitor MPVs and similar vehicles, as well as operational motorcycles at Pupuk Kaltim. This aligns with the company’s commitment to prioritizing safety in the workplace, as reflected in our tagline: ‘Safety is Our Personality,’” stated Mr. Erwin.
Welcoming this expansion of implementation, David Santoso, CEO of PT Teknologi Karya Digital Nusa Tbk, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting digital transformation in strategic industrial sectors.
“We are very proud to continue earning the trust of a national-scale company like Pupuk Kaltim. The expansion of services through the integration of the Command Center and new features within the TAM Fleet ecosystem demonstrates that our technology solutions are highly flexible and can be scaled to meet the growing needs of our clients. We hope this smart monitoring innovation will continue to support Pupuk Kaltim in enhancing the security and safety of their operational bus fleet,” said David Santoso.
This collaboration between PT Teknologi Karya Digital Nusa Tbk (TRON) and Pupuk Kaltim demonstrates a shared commitment to advancing industry-wide digitization. This initiative aims to inspire other industry players to adopt similar innovations, fostering a collective sense of progress and leadership in safety and efficiency improvements across the sector.
