Jakarta, November 20, 2025 – PT Teknologi Karya Digital Nusa Tbk (TRON) has entered into a strategic partnership with the National Battery Research Institute (NBRI) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate the development of digital infrastructure for electric vehicles and battery energy storage system (BESS) technology in Indonesia. 

The MoU was signed by TRON President Director, David Santoso, and NBRI Founder, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Evvy Kartini. This collaboration combines the strengths of both organizations to speed up the advancement of smart mobility technologies while enhancing the quality and safety of batteries used within Indonesia’s national electric vehicle ecosystem.

The partnership between TRON and NBRI includes the development of smart mobility technologies as well as Research and Development for battery products used in battery-powered electric motor vehicles and BESS. Both parties will also collaborate on testing, measurement, performance verification, and battery testing to support standardization and quality improvement. The scope also covers trials for electric vehicle monitoring systems, human resource capacity building, technology training, and various other forms of relevant cooperation.

NBRI Founder, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Evvy Kartini, highlighted the institution’s technological expertise. “NBRI has upstream capabilities to produce high-quality nickel-based battery cathodes. We can also provide certification to ensure that battery products meet global safety standards. This collaboration ensures that the batteries developed in Indonesia are not only technologically superior, but also compliant with international standards.”

This partnership represents a tangible collaboration between the technology and research sectors to strengthen Indonesia’s electric vehicle ecosystem. PT TKDN Tbk, through TRON-X Solutions and Renewable Energy Solutions, will integrate AI-based digital platforms and renewable energy technologies with NBRI’s cutting-edge battery research capabilities to deliver more efficient, affordable, and sustainable electric transportation.
